Breaking Ground On A Brand New Digs

It’s official. Construction on our new home is underway.

CoastHills Credit Union leaders and board members gathered at the Enos Ranch construction site this month to commemorate breaking ground on a brand-new 90,000 square-foot headquarters. The bright and modern three-story building will give CoastHills a highly visible, accessible and convenient location on Betteravia and Highway 101 in Santa Maria.

Located adjacent to the freeway, our new HQ will serve as a waypost to what city leaders have called Santa Maria’s front door.

Now that construction has begun, the building’s completion is scheduled for early-to-mid 2019.

The distinct blue and green waves of the CoastHills logo will splash the exterior walls. Window placement was specially designed to provide a flood of natural light on all sides, too.

It will feature a state-of-the-art banking branch on the ground floor. That includes our new Interactive Teller Machines, which allow members to make their own transactions or video chat with a local Member Service Officer.

Plans also include an auditorium and meeting space for up to 250 and a company gym for employees. More than 150 staff members from CoastHills’ various departments, including business services, wealth management, consumer lending, member information systems, education, our all-local call center and more will be moving in throughout the three stories.

Remaining open space on the second floor, which is reserved for future growth, will initially be available to sublease to complementary businesses.

The progressive architectural plan was provided by Arris Studio Architects and is being executed by Specialty Construction Inc., two San Luis Obispo-based companies.

The blueprint has been lauded by city leaders as an example for future local builders to follow.

The new headquarters was picked especially for its prime location.

Our field of membership has grown within the past five years. We’re now able to serve more than San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties. CoastHills now has members living as for north as Santa Cruz and as far south as Thousand Oaks. And everywhere in between.

This location makes an ideal central point for that expansion.
