From The CEO: Our Journey Through The Pandemic

A message from CEO, Paul Cook.

It’s astonishing to look back at all that’s happened in the past year. COVID-19 pandemic restrictions have impacted just about every aspect of our lives — work, home, school, shopping, dining. That’s why it’s so encouraging to see local businesses able to re-open or expand in-person services and experiences. 

At CoastHills, we’ve focused on helping our member-owners successfully navigate the pandemic, on improving the quality and efficiency of our member service and on providing excellent products to help you reach your financial goals.
To start, we made safe access to in-person financial services our greatest priority. Even in the most restrictive of stay-at-home orders, we knew how important it was for you to be able to continue banking and to feel completely healthy and safe while visiting. Our hard working staff took great care to keep our banking center lobbies open rather than resort to drive-through-only or walk-up service. I’m proud to say that more than a year into these unprecedented times, each of CoastHills’ 11 Central Coast locations have remained open for full service for all but three unplanned days.  

We’re committed to enhancing both in-person and digital member experience and offer more flexible and efficient banking options to all of our members. For instance, our Betteravia Branch in Santa Maria is now open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays and we are currently remodeling our Nipomo branch to provide expanded member services. On the digital front, after launching a new system this past year, our online and mobile banking experience is the best and most powerful it’s ever been. In the very near future, we are introducing a new account opening platform, which will streamline our existing process and allow our staff to spend more time helping members work towards their financial goals. Whether you are expanding your relationship with us, opening an account for your children or referring a friend or family member, expect the smoothest and quickest experience when opening an account either in branch or online. 

We’ve also made it a priority to offer Best of Class products and services with competitive rates and low fees that help members get the best deal, whether through low interest rates on loans or dividends on deposits.  As an example, both of our CoastHills Visa® credit cards continue to feature the same low fixed rates as they did pre-pandemic. Additionally, both cards come with a special 1.99% introductory rate on all balance transfers and no balance transfer fee. That makes them a smart choice for consolidating debt from higher interest rate cards to lower finance charges and save money.
