Board of Directors

R. Bruce Coggin (Incumbent)

I was born in Sacramento to Roy & Frances Coggin. Our family moved to Lompoc in 1968. A graduate of Cabrillo High School in 1971, I continued my formal education at Allan Hancock College studying Business Administration. After attending Allan Hancock College, I began working and attended night school at La Verne, USC & UCSB extension schools. Patti Jacobs and I were married in 1976. We have three children, Christopher, Jeffrey and Natalie. Our daughter, Natalie, is afflicted by a neurological disorder called Rett Syndrome. We have four adorable grandchildren, Andrew, Katlyn, Alexander and Cody.

In 1977, I started work with Johns-Manville Corporation. The business is now owned by Imerys Corporation. I retired from my position as Environmental Health & Safety Manager with Imerys on December 31, 2018 and look forward to a life filled with community service, sprinkled with some golf & travel, but most of all, time spent with my children and grandchildren.

A member of the Lompoc Rotary Club, I have been president of the club twice and served a two-year term as Group Representative to the Rotary District Governor. I have been an active volunteer, serving on a number of local volunteer boards including the CoastHills Credit Union Board of Directors since 2008.

CoastHills Credit Union has a very diverse and capable management staff, an engaged board of directors and a fantastic membership. Thank you for the opportunity to continue my service to CoastHills Credit Union.

Dr. Earl Murray

Earl Murray is an IT Professional with 22 years of experience in Help Desk Operations at Vandenberg Space Force Base. He supports his customers by handling problems with the computer, network, and telephone problems leading to quality solutions.

Earl is a part-time business professor at Allan Hancock College with 17 years of experience teaching business, management, leadership and entrepreneurial courses. Earl is an adjunct business professor at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with 9 years of experience teaching undergraduate and graduate management and leadership courses.

He holds a doctorate in management from the University of Phoenix, a master's degree in leadership and IT, and a bachelor's degree in management from the University of Laverne, and an associate degree in business administration, marketing, and management from Allan Hancock College.

His candidacy to become board member centers around his passion for volunteering and serving the community. He belongs to the Rotary Club of Vandenberg Village and was the president from 2017 to 2020. His vision for the Credit Union is to ensure there is financial health and stability. He would like for memberships to increase with great services. Strategic expansion of more credit unions on the Central Coast to meet the needs of their communities. Provide local support to small businesses or other organizations who need help.

Earl joined the Credit Union in 1980 and enjoys the services they provide. Earl has been married to his wife Jeannie for 12 years, and they have lived in Vandenberg Village since 1984, and love the community.

Arthur "Chuck" Scheithauer Jr. (Incumbent)

Last year my fellow Directors elected me Chairman, Board of Directors, based on my more than twenty years of volunteer service to CoastHills learning the credit union industry. My knowledge of credit union regulations and policies ensures the safety and soundness of your credit union with $1.6 billion in assets under management. I served 20 years in the USAF and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. I then worked 21 years for the VAFB Range contractors. I have a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a Master's in Systems Management. I completed the Director Education curriculum developed by the Credit Union Executives Society.

Your Board, together with the Senior Leadership team, has focused on upgrading online and in-person member experiences while expanding the Credit Union's interest in our communities. We modernized the Nipomo Branch, with plans to do the same in Arroyo Grande, Orcutt and San Luis Obispo. Another branch will open in Arroyo Grande in February. We provided over 1,000 Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans totaling $54 million to small businesses. We are a leader in lending on the Central Coast and provided over $350,000 to local non-profits benefiting our communities.

I am honored by the confidence you have shown in my abilities to be your advocate for obtaining the financial products and services you need. My current insight of our Credit Union's goals is vital to maintaining our member-first focus.

Supervisory Committee

David R. Meyers (Incumbent)

Myers is a longtime member of CoastHills Credit Union, having joined when it was still known as Vandenberg Federal Credit Union. He believes he is prepared to support its members in ensuring continued growth and stability.

To further this objective, Myers brings life-long experiences from the Air Force and civilian occupations, where he has served as a brigadier general, vice president and director. He has a bachelor's degree from California State University, San Diego, and a master's degree from the University of Southern California.

He works currently as a real estate broker and seeks to continue to bring that expertise to bear in helping CoastHills continue to compete successfully in the real estate mortgage environment.

Myers is actively working with our auditors to continually seek to improve how we organize and manage these procedures. He looks forward to continuing his service to CoastHills and to its membership.
