Last updated: Tuesday, September 28, 2021

We are fully committed to both your personal and financial well-being and understand that during these uncertain times, help, guidance, and the ability to find the information you need in one place is important to you.

As developments continue to evolve, we commit to keeping you updated about how we are safely and effectively managing operations. Here’s what we’re currently doing to support you and the precautions we’re taking to protect our members and employees.

Branch Precautions and Options for Self-Service

Effective Wednesday, September 1, 2021, in accordance with guidance from the California Department of Public Health:

Santa Barbara & San Luis Obispo County branches:

  • Masks are required for all members entering a branch, regardless of vaccination status.

While all of our branches remain open, we encourage you to use our self-service banking tools as most financial services and transactions can be managed through your desktop or mobile device:

Online & Mobile Banking - Check account status, pay bills, transfer money, deposit checks and more. Enroll in online banking and download and install our mobile banking apps for iOS and Android today.

Loan Pay - Pay your CoastHills loans1 from another financial institution by using our quick, easy and FREE service, Loan Pay.

Contactless Payments - Limit the number of times you hand your Visa® credit or debit card to another person by using contactless NFC payments with your mobile device or smartwatch. CoastHills Visa® credit and debit cards are each compatible with Apple Pay.

Online Messaging - Send a secure online message from your online browser or mobile device to member services. From our mobile app, select "More" then "Secure Messaging." From within online banking, look for the "Additional Services" link then select "Secure Messaging" from the drop-down options.

If you need to visit one of our branches, rest assured we’re taking precautions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as well as federal, state and local agencies, including:

  • Enhanced cleaning and sanitation processes
  • Protective shields at every employee station
  • Employees are required to wear a protective mask while working
  • Decals have been placed on the floors to maintain social distancing

Business Services Relief Options

The Small Business Administration (SBA) is now only accepting new Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loan applications from Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI). For more information or to find a CDFI, please visit

If you have previously received PPP funding through CoastHills Credit Union and are now looking to apply for Loan Forgiveness, please visit

Look Out for Fraud and Evaluate Your Finances

If you’re worried about your financial security,  take some steps to evaluate your situation. Times will surely be tough moving forward, but with relief programs on the way and some creditors and utilities evaluating policies to add leniency, don’t wait to act.

If you’re in a position to help your family or others in need of securing supplies, be aware that criminal activity is often heightened during a crisis. Recognize the signs of fraudsters looking to take advantage of your kindness or people’s desperation to purchase scarce items. We will never text or email members asking to be contacted about their account information.
