greenarrowsm  Special Assets Officer - Santa Maria (Betteravia), CA

Under the direction of the Chief Credit Officer, the Special Assets Officer (“SAO”) is responsible for managing and resolving a portfolio of special assets through rehabilitation, exit, or liquidation. The SAO has oversight responsibilities for past due accounts, overdrafts and the enforcement of covenants and conditions. The SAO is responsible for developing strategies for workout credits with varying and evolving degrees of aggressiveness commensurate with the situation.

Review of Duties:

Responsible for all aspects of managing, maintaining and selling commercial properties that are classified as problem loans and/or CoastHills has foreclosed on.

The SAO will assist senior management in evaluating collateral, loan documentation, and financial information to determine CoastHills’ position in current economic environment.

Minimizes risk in the portfolio, including risk ratings, accrual status, and TDR status. Works to assist the CCO and CFO is determining the appropriate reserves for problem loans.

Tracks covenant compliance, tickler system, public record filings, client correspondence, loan payments/extensions processing and the tracking and following of collateral insurance for loans in special asset portfolio.

An important element of outstanding service is identifying the financial needs of the member and effectively suggesting solutions that will improve the member’s financial life. Additionally, under general direction of the AVP Collections and/or VP Collections, carries out any and all collections activities as assigned.

Review of Duties:

Manages department to control delinquency and charge-off ratios to achieve budgeted departmental objectives.

Ensures staff compliance with all applicable laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures.

Review all requests for charge-off, repossession and partial settlement.

Recommends for approval to AVP Collections/VP Collections for charge offs, repossessions, partial settlement, foreclosure, short sale, extensions, REO Liquidation and loan workouts.

Under direction of the Branch Manager, the Branch Supervisor is responsible for efficiently supervising the daily operations and assigned employees of the branch in addition to assuming the responsibilities of the Manager during his/her absence.

Working with the Branch Manager, plans, manages, directs, organizes and controls the operational activities and employees of the branch, including cross selling, member service, quality, safety and security control.

Monitors and observes employee performance, demeanor, technical accuracy, sales and service efforts, and conformity to policy and procedure.

Maintains the ability to process and fund loans of all types as well as cross-sell all credit union products and services.

Under the direction of the Lending Experience Manager, the Internal Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for managing and originating quality real estate loans from branches, LSI, online applications and members, to increase real estate loan volume and market share.

Review of Duties:

Collects, examines and evaluates member financial and personal data to counsel and recommend appropriate residential lending products.

Facilitates and assists members with the residential lending application process, manages member expectations and established valuable member trust relationships resulting in repeat business and loan referrals.

Responds quickly to in-house referred members who seek information regarding residential lending products and services and is available to accept internally transferred mortgage referral calls.

Analyzes detailed financial and credit data, matching member needs with an appropriate loan program and level of risk.

Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests from our members relating to CoastHills products and services and is given the tools to support and educate members on banking solutions and options available to them. Performs non-cash banking transactions as needed. Promotes and maintains a positive image of the Credit Union.

Review of Duties:

Greets and assists members and guests in a vibrant, friendly, proactive and efficient manner with appropriate follow-up as necessary.

Answers guest inquiries, answers and directs phone calls, coordinates lobby traffic and directs members and guests to the correct department or area.

Has basic knowledge of Credit Union services and programs and directs guests to product experts.

Maintains and replenishes inventory and stock of supplies, brochures, and collateral for members.
