Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Payments
Similar to a digital wallet, you can send and receive money right through your phone with FREE apps like, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App and PayPal. It’s more convenient that writing checks or handling cash and it’s easy to enroll by linking your CoastHills account, debit or credit card.
Setting up your P2P account
Each provider operates in a slightly different manner, however they all employ encryption and other security measures to ensure the safety of their user’s financial data. To set up an account, you simply link your bank account, debit card or credit card. It’s highly recommended that you also select additional safety mechanisms such as PIN code or text notifications, if available, to further protect your funds.
Things to keep in mind
While P2P services are typically a safe way to transfer money, there is always the risk of fraudsters trying to access your funds. Unlike bank accounts and debit or credit cards, balances held in P2P services may not be protected by FDIC insurance or federal law – which may leave you vulnerable to claims of unauthorized use or fraud and could make resolving claims of fraud more difficult. To lower the risk of being victimized by fraudsters, we recommend you only conduct P2P transactions with people you know. Most transactions are immediate and irreversible, a fact scammers are known to exploit.

When using P2P payment systems, there is more risk involved, so please refer to the terms and conditions of the P2P service you are using for important information regarding your transaction. And remember, we will never email, call or otherwise ask you for your username, password or other electronic banking credentials.
