Send Money to Another CoastHills Member
Need to send your child some lunch money? Paying back a friend who also banks with CoastHills? Member-to-Member transfers make it easy to move money to other CoastHills members - fast, safe, and right from Online Banking.
Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Head to the Transfers Section
Start by logging into Online Banking. From the menu, click Transfer & Pay, then choose Member to Member Transfers from the dropdown list. This will take you to the screen where you can set up your transfer.
Step 2: Add a New Recipient
Now it’s time to tell us who you’re sending money to.
First, choose the account you want to send money from using the From dropdown.
Then, in the To dropdown, click Add a recipient. This is where you’ll enter a few details about the other CoastHills member’s account.
Step 3: Enter the Recipient’s Information
You’ll need four key pieces of information to add a recipient:
- First 3 Characters of Last Name: Enter the first three letters of the primary account holder’s last name (not a joint account holder).
- Account Type: Choose where the money is going:
- For checking accounts, select Share Draft.
- For savings, choose Regular Share.
- Share Number: This tells us which of the member’s accounts the money is going to.
- Savings usually begin with 00, and checking often starts with 80 - but it can vary. You can find your own share numbers in the My Accounts section of Online Banking for reference.
- Account Number: This is the recipient’s unique account number. You don’t need to add leading zeros.
When you're ready, click Verify Recipient. You’ll see the recipient’s name pop up to confirm you’ve entered the info correctly. If you’re setting up more than one transfer for the same member, consider renaming each account (like "John Smith's Checking") to keep things organized.
Step 4: Make the Transfer
Once the recipient is verified, you’ll find them listed in the To dropdown on the Move Money or Transfers page. You can return to this page the same way you did in Step 1.
Step 5: Send Your Money
Now for the easy part - sending the funds.
Select the recipient from the To dropdown, pick the date, and enter the amount you’d like to send. From there, it's just like transferring between your own accounts.
Want to add more people? Just repeat these steps anytime.
Whether you're supporting family, sharing expenses, or just helping out a fellow member, Member-to-Member transfers make sending money feel simple and secure.
